An Exciting Season Ahead: May and June Performances
This May and June, The Marian Consort continues an especially exciting season of performances across the UK, bringing together Renaissance masterworks and contemporary voices in a series of festival appearances and special events.
Highlights in May include appearances at Stroud Arts Festival and Chiltern Arts Festival, alongside workshops and concerts in Penzance.
A particular focus this season is The Marian Consort’s residency at the Dunster Festival at the end of May. The ensemble will open the festival with a special concert at the Priory Church of St George on 23 May, followed by a choral workshop led by Rory McCleery in the Dunster Tithe Barn on 24 May. The residency promises a weekend celebrating choral music, collaboration, and exploration at the heart of one of the region’s most distinctive festivals.
In June, the ensemble travels north to the St Magnus Festival for performances including Voices of the Western Wind and The Auld Alliance, continuing The Marian Consort’s exploration of rich and varied vocal repertoire in some of the UK’s most atmospheric venues.
